
Deborah McManus is the co-founder of the WellMet Philanthropy, a women-led philanthropic organization dedicated to providing first-time grants to emerging nonprofit organizations in New York City. McManus also chairs the D J McManus Foundation, providing support for new journalists and benefiting cultural programs that foster youth development and the arts. McManus founded and is chair of the SoHarmoniums Women’s Choir. She is a board member of the Young People’s Chorus of New York City, an organization that offers music education and choral performance to children of all cultural and economic backgrounds. Previously, McManus worked as a registered architect and a researcher-reporter for Time magazine. McManus holds a master’s degree in urban planning.
