“Generations Stolen,” which we released in partnership with WORLD Channel, has been chosen as a finalist in the 2024 Nonprofit News Awards. The video details how hundreds of thousands of Native children were systematically removed from their communities across generations, sent first into a vast network of government-run boarding schools, and later to live with white families in foster and adoptive homes. The video is a finalist in two categories: Insight Award for Explanatory Journalism and Insight Award for Visual Journalism.
