Lesson Plan: Labor Union Activism – Teaching With Primary Sources (Scaffolded Writing Resources)
In the 1930s, the United States was reeling from the Great Depression. One of Franklin Delano Rooseveltโs many responses was to push for the National Labor Relations Board, or Wagner Act, giving workers for private businesses the right to unionize. In the 2020s, the nation faced the turmoil of the Covid-19 pandemic, and workers responded by banding together again and undertaking efforts to unionize.
