Paula L White is the executive director of JerseyCAN where she leads statewide work on education legislation and policy, and supports teachers and parents to be effective advocates for high-quality education. Her expertise includes the areas of literacy, college and career readiness and teacher diversity. White has taught elementary grades; founded and led a public charter school; and served as the Chief Turnaround Officer in charge of statewide public school improvement. She served on the New Jersey Council for Young Children and has been named to several education impact lists including City & State NYโ€™s Education Power 100. Ms. White has been featured across a plethora of news outlets including NPR, the CBS Nightly News, the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. She earned degrees from Spelman College and Columbia Universityโ€™s Teachers College.
