During the Vietnam War American soldiers were confronted by an invisible enemy. The Viet Cong would strike and then retreat back into the dense jungles. In 1962 it was decided that the US military would begin Operation Ranch Hand that would drop millions of tons of a defoliant called Agent Orange on the Jungles of Vietnam in hopes of exposing their enemies. In the years and decades since the use of the chemical defoliant has remained a controversial topic within a controversial event in United States History.
